Kevin Jones Performing a "Mainstream" Jazz Repertoire

HADLEY - On Saturday, July 26, Kevin Jones continues the thirtieth season of the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum’s “A Perfect Spot of Tea”. During the music, guests relax on the back veranda while enjoying pastries and tea donated by local businesses. Kevin Jones will concentrate on a “Mainstream” jazz repertoire including standards, Latin swing tunes, blues tunes, and jazz tunes.
Kevin Jones taught jazz and classical guitar at the Kevin Jones Guitar Studio in the Carriage Ships in Amherst from 1974 to 1990. He taught for 13 years in the juvenile justice system and now runs a program for high school students with behavior disorders for the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative. Since he moved to the Pioneer Valley in 1973 he has performed in many styles and with many people. Now he focuses on “Mainstream” jazz – Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Miles Davis, Carlos Jobim.
Admission for “A Perfect Spot of Tea” is $10.00 per person, and seatings are at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum is located at 130 River Drive (Route 47) in Hadley, two miles north of the junction of Routes 9 and 47.
