Meet our 2016 Museum Interns: May, Michaela, and Kaitlin

May (pictured left) is a student at Hampshire College and will begin her final year in the Fall. She studies Photography, Photo History, and Archival research. She has a strong academic and personal interest in Women's History, LGBTQ+ Studies, and Disability Activism. May is very interested in the Museum's collections of photographs, cameras, stereocards, all things visual!

Michaela (pictured middle) is a rising junior at UMass Amherst, studying Anthropology and Art History. This is her second summer as an intern at the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum, and she is very excited to be back! Michaela hopes to pursue a career in archaeology or archival work and is interested in the material culture present at PPH. Her tours focus on significant objects, furniture, and art throughout the home, highlighting the fantastic artifact collection of the museum.

Kaitlin (pictured right) is a Senior studying Art History and History at UMASS Amherst. Kaitlin hopes to be a museum curator which is one of the reasons she chose to intern at the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum this summer. Kaitlin enjoys sharing stories centered around Women’s History which is a focus of her tours at the museum!
